EDCTP in partnership with the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and the Gulbenkian Foundation welcomes you the Ninth EDCTP Forum at the Gulbenkian Foundation, in Lisbon, Portugal from 17-21 September 2018. Up to 700 delegates from across the globe are expected to attend the Forum. 

All delegates are responsible for making their own travel, accommodation, visa and insurance arrangements and covering the costs thereof (with the exception of invited delegates sponsored by EDCTP and awarded scholarship applicants).

The Forum registration fee does not include airfare, accommodation or other costs. 

 

Delegate registration includes:

  • The opening ceremony
  • All plenary, parallel and symposium sessions
  • Satellite meetings
  • The exhibitors and poster presentations area
  • Meals as indicated in the Forum programme
  • Forum social events
  • Forum bag 

 

Registration requirements:

  • A personal address (Institution/Company or private) and email address for each delegate must be provided during the registration process.
  • Multiple registrations with the same email address will not be accepted by the system.

 

Scholarship applications

EDCTP offers a limited number of scholarships to early career investigators and scientists working in the scope of EDCTP to attend the Ninth EDCTP Forum. These scholarships aim to support the participation of those who might not otherwise be able to attend. Applications for scholarships must be submitted in parallel with the abstract submission. Confirmation of registration 

Delegates will receive an automatic email upon successful submission of the online registration. Registration will be confirmed after payment of the registration fee is received. 

 

Payment of registration

Payments may be made online by credit card or by bank transfer. All payments must be made in Euros. Participants are requested to select their preferred payment method in the online registration form. For payments by bank transfer, please allow around 5 working days for payment processing before registration is confirmed. 

 

Cancellation policy

Cancellations submitted in writing to EDCTPForum2018@leading.pt no later than Friday 17 August 2018 will receive a refund of the registration fee minus € 50 for administration costs. No refunds can be made for cancellations received after this date. EDCTP will not be responsible for refunding airfare, hotel or any other costs incurred.

In case of overpayment or double payment, refund requests including valid proof of the overpayment or double payment must be made in writing no later than one month after the Forum closure.

Refunds will not be made for unattended events or early termination of attendance.

 

Substitution policy

In the event that a participant is unable to attend the Forum, the registrant may request to transfer a paid, standard registration to another person by contacting EDCTPForum2018@leading.pt. The transfer of registration, if accepted, incurs a € 50 administration charge.

 

Certificate of participation 

Certificate of participation will be made available online by the last day of the Forum. 

 

Continuous Medical Education

For CME accreditation of the Forum, EDCTP will make an application to the European Accreditation Council for Continuous Medical Education (EACCME®; an Institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists – UEMS). 

 

Data Protection and Sharing of Contact Details

All data provided in connection with the Forum may be used (saved, stored, processed, transmitted and deleted) in accordance with the EDCTP Privacy Policy. 

EDCTP may share contact details of participants with external partners that may use these details to contact participants regarding activities at the Forum or other communications which may be of interest. Therefore, data might be passed on to third parties unless otherwise explicitly indicated by the participant during the registration process. Data protection is warranted in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act, UPPER HOUSE OF THE DUTCH PARLIAMENT, Session 1999-2000 Nr. 92.
